[On the couch, sleeping like a lump in a blanket is a hobo with a mess of red hair. It's probably pretty unexpected. There's not usually a hobo in a blanket on the couch.]
[Matt about shrieks, eyes widening, and he curls away from the claws. He's half awake, and for just a moment, he thinks he sees purple with the claws, but his brain catches up to his panic, and he remembers how to breathe. He still looks pretty panicked.]
Yeah, it's me, Ren. Pidge's brother. I can... go if you want, sorry. I swear I didn't mean to intrude on anything!
[ Ren takes a seat beside him with a sigh, tailing wrapping around himself. ]
It's about Katie. [ He explains by way of warning. If Matt didn't want to hear about his sister's love drama, that was understandable. ] I ended up coming back, as you can see, and came here first thing. But we ended up...kind of having an argument. Mostly because I panicked and was an asshole.
[Matt winces. He's been on the wrong end of Pidge's temper a time or two.]
What kind of asshole? Pidge... does have a bit of a temper, but I can tell you that it burns out quickly. She does realize she's overreacted, but sometimes she needs a bit of time.
More like... She was trying to explain what happened during the triple moon while I was gone and how she had someone she's interested in in addition to me and I kind of...jumped to conclusions and accused her of looking for an excuse to ditch me and go to someone else.
[ Ren apparently expects some sort of punch for that, judging by the wary glance he sends Matt as he tenses up. He'd deserve it, honestly. ]
[Matt's not the kind to deck someone. He never has been, and never will be. He winces a bit at Ren's story, then shakes his head.]
Oh, definitely not. Pidge sticks by the people she cares about, no matter what. She missed you so much when you were gone. Half the reason I'm here is I didn't really like the thought of her being alone when she was hurting.
[He's missed enough of that, he's not going let her hurt alone if he's anywhere near.]
She'll be alright. If she really didn't want you around... she would probably have literally tossed you out. Honestly, I can tell you love her, and that's what really matters.
[ surprisingly, that makes him feel better. if anyone knew Pidge, it was her brother. ]
I love her more than anything else. I meant it when I told her I wanted to go back to your world with her. I...wasn't a good person before I met Katie. She makes me want to be better...Believe that I can be better.
So when I thought that she'd decided she didn't want me anymore... It'd hurt less if she just hit me and got it over with.
I have complete confidence that Pidge would kick you in the balls and bayard you sterile if you hurt her. She doesn't actually need my help on that one.
I don't think it would be necessary, though. I can tell she loves you, and you love her. That's all I could ever ask for. Make sure she's alright, as much as she lets anyone make sure she's alright.
[ it's strange. the username is venus. the voice is clearly venus. but something's up - from the languid tone in her voice to the slightly muffled sound of teeth on lips as she continues talking. ]
It's so cold right now, Ren? It's so cold. Ugh. [ a pause - the telltale clink of a wine glass. ah. well, that's probably part of it, at least. ] So I was thinking, right? And I thought... Maybe. It might be nice if you were here to heat me up?
[ she's making it as painfully obvious as she can just what she means. but evidently that's not obvious enough, because there's a sound like the rustling of fabric, and then- ]
-oh, yeah. You don't remember the Ferris wheel, do you? [ a giggle: high, a bit nasal, and with that same slow drawl she's had the whole time. ] Looks like the piercings will be brand new for you.
[ yeah, okay. she's made her point. click! she just. sends that over. ]
[ like he can resist a booty call from Venus. honestly, even if it wasn't a booty call, it'd been so damn long since he'd seen her, that Ren would drop everything and go anyway. ]
[ click! venus doesn’t even say a word; she just turns on the camera, keeping her top half in frame and cutting off just below her chin. silently, she tugs the white shirt down, stretching it nice and taut over her chest.
[ she still sounds... different, somehow, behind the camera. that slight lisp is still there, yes, but it's more than that. it's the odd, off-kilter drawl, like she's been drinking or rehearsing her words for too long or maybe both. but when she giggles, it's a hundred percent venus coming through. ]
Wanna find out?
[ just, you know. maybe a more tipsy, moon-drunk, hornier venus. ]
